Soha Gendy , Minister of Immigration in Egypt
CAIRO - 11 February 2023: Egyptian Minister of State for Immigration and Egyptians Abroad Affairs, Ambassador Soha Gendy, received Saturday Ambassador Dr. Sameh Abul-Enein, Consul General of Egypt in Chicago and the states of the American Midwest, to discuss strengthening joint cooperation, within the framework of serving and meeting all the needs of the Egyptian community, and working to increase their bond with the homeland.
For her part, Ambassador Soha Gendy, Minister of Immigration, welcomed Ambassador Sameh Abul-Enein, Consul General of Egypt in Chicago, and the states of the Central and American West, stressing that the Ministry of Immigration seeks to reach and communicate with various Egyptian communities in all countries of the world to the same extent, including the Egyptian community in the United States of America.
The Minister of Immigration expressed her great appreciation for all members of the Egyptian community in Chicago and the states of the American Midwest, adding "we have distinguished Egyptian cadres in all fields, and those with important contributions within the society there, and among our roles is opening permanent lines of communication with them, to benefit from their expertise and deep experience."
For his part, Ambassador Sameh Abul-Enein, Consul General of Egypt in Chicago and the states of the American Midwest, expressed his appreciation for the efforts of Ambassador Soha Gendy, the Minister of Immigration, and the continuous activity since her assuming of the portfolio of the ministry, and her continuous endeavor to serve Egyptian communities abroad, and to provide a number of advantages for our citizens abroad.
The Consul General of Egypt in Chicago conveyed an invitation to Ambassador Soha Gendi, Minister of Immigration, to visit the states of the Midwest and the American West and to meet the Egyptian community there, stressing that the Egyptian community in Chicago and the rest of the states are looking forward to meeting her.
In her turn, Ambassador Soha Gendi, Minister of Immigration, welcomed the meeting of the Egyptian community in Chicago, and the states of central and western America, saying "we are excited about this visit, and meeting with the symbols of the community, to discuss their conditions and know their various requirements and needs, and inform them of the efforts of the Egyptian state in various fields, as well as review diversified investment opportunities within the Egyptian market.
And the Minister of Immigration continued that she seeks to expand coordination with Egyptian doctors abroad, paying visits to university hospitals in Egypt, providing medical services, and training young Egyptian doctors.
The meeting witnessed an agreement to arrange a cultural and tourism program within the framework of the forums organized by the Ministry of Immigration for the youth of the second and third generations of Egyptians abroad. This program is devoted to the youth of the Egyptian community in Chicago and the central and western states of the United States, in coordination and cooperation with the Egyptian Consulate.
