CAIRO – 5 February 2023: The Economic Judicial District at Qena Criminal Court sentenced Sunday Mostafa al-Bank to 15 years in prison after he had been found guilty of collecting LE 1 billion from 9,319 citizens in Aswan under the pretext of investment.
The convict gathered the amount in three months and never gave them any interest as promised. Hence, many of the victims gathered a year ago in front of his house demanding their money back, which prompted the police to investigate the case.
The lawsuit involved 30 others whose sentences varied between three and 10 years in prison as well as fines ranging between LE500,000 – LE20 million.
