Egypt’s President Sisi mourns death of former Prime Minister Sherif Ismail

CAIRO – 4 February 2023: President Abdel Fattah El Sisi mourned the death of former Prime Minister Sherif Ismail, who passed away at the age of 67 after a long battle with illness, on Saturday.

“The deceased was a truly great man, who took responsibility in the most difficult circumstances and the hardest times,” said President Sisi on Twitter.

أنعى بخالص الحزن والأسى رجلًا فاضلًا من خير رجال مصر، رجلًا تجسد فيه ضمير هذه الأمة، رئيس الوزراء السابق الدكتور الجليل شريف إسماعيل.

لقد كان الراحل رجلًا عظيمًا بحق، تحمل المسئولية في أصعب الظروف وأحلك الأوقات، وكان على قدر المسئولية الصعبة.

President Sisi praised Ismail’s sincerity and honesty when he was serving his country. “I condole myself and the Egyptian people for the loss of this loyal man,” said President Sisi.

Ismail had assigned as a Prime Minister in the period between 2015 and 2018. Previously, he was Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources.
