Government: EgyptAir is not for sale

CAIRO – 26 January 2023: The Media Center of Egypt’s Cabinet denied what was circulated on some media outlets and social media pages regarding the government's intention to sell the state-owned flag carrier EgyptAir.

 

 

“EgyptAir stressed that it is a national company that will remain owned by the state and cannot be abandoned in any way as it is one of the main arms of the state in the aviation transport system,” the center said in a statement.

 

The company said that it has a development plan aimed at modernizing its fleet of aircraft, expanding its network of routes and increasing the number of its flights.
