CAIRO – 23 January 2023: Egyptian Minister of Water Resources and Irrigation Hani Swelam has expressed support to development projects in South Sudan.
In statements upon arrival in Juba on Monday on a three-day visit to South Sudan, the minister pointed out to joint projects between the two countries in the fields of health, education, electricity, irrigation and training in addition to opening a branch for Banque Misr in Juba.
He hailed relations binding the two countries in many domains and joint projects especially in the water resources area.
For his part, South Sudan Minister of Water Resources Pal Mai Deng hailed Egypt's support to South Sudan and joint projects between the two countries in the water resources domains.
Earlier this week, Swelam visited Sudan and met with Abdel Fattah Al-Burhan, Chairman of the Sudanese Sovereignty Council, where he conveyed the greetings of President Sisi and wished him all the best and stability for the brotherly Sudanese people.
Swelam stressed the depth of the relationship between the two brotherly countries and Egypt's keenness to strengthen cooperation relations with Sudan in all fields, especially in the field of water resources and irrigation.
This comes in a way that achieves the aspirations of the two peoples and reflects the unity of purpose and destiny.
