CAIRO – 20 January 2023: State Minister for Egypt's Military Production Mohamed Salah el Din Moustafa had talks with the vice president of US company Nalco Water on boosting bilateral cooperation in the field of wastewater treatment in Egypt using the "biuret" reagent.
The talks fall within the framework of the cooperation protocol signed in November 2021 and an agreement signed on April 2022 between Nalco Water and Abu Zaabal Company for Specialized Chemicals (Factory 18), affiliated to the Ministry of Military Production, to supply, install, and operate an integrated wastewater treatment system using the "biuret" chemical compound.
The minister said that cooperation between the two sides in line with President Abdel Fattah El Sisi's directives to mobilize efforts by all state concerned bodies to develop the water treatment strategy to comply with the State's general policy for rational water management and optimal use of available water resources.
He asserted the Military Production Ministry's keenness on possessing the ability in this field, as well as to employing all the available industrial, technological, technical and human capabilities to participate in the implementation of major national projects that contribute to the development of citizens' livelihood and provide them with a decent life.
For his part, the vice chairman of Nalco Water lauded the Military Production Ministry's potentials, saying that cooperation between the two sides aimed at benefiting from the available Egyptian industrial capabilities to increase the local component in wastewater treatment projects in Egypt.
He underlined that cooperation with Abu Zaabal Company for Specialized Chemicals (Factory 18) paves the way for US companies to play a major role in the field of water treatment in Egypt and to beef up US investments in projects implemented in this sector.
Nalco Water, an Ecolab company, specializes in industrial water, energy and air applications, helping customers reduce natural resource consumption, enhance air quality, minimize environmental releases and improve productivity and end products, all while boosting the bottom line.
