Egypt's FM holds talks with his Chinese counterpart in Cairo

CAIRO - 15 January 2023: Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry had talks on Sunday with his Chinese counterpart Qin Gang, currently visiting.

The meeting tackled means of enhancing bilateral ties in various domains as well as a host of regional and international issues of mutual concern.

The two ministers will hold a joint press conference at the end of their talks. 

President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi met in December his Chinese counterpart, Xi Jinping, in Riyadh, on the sidelines of the first Arab-Chinese Summit.

In his speech during the summit, President Sisi said that most of the world’s countries and especially developing countries are suffering from the food crisis and its repercussions.

The Egyptian president noted that this crisis along with its consequences is a main motive to strengthen the Chinese-Arab partnership to face global challenge by strengthening multilateral cooperation.

President Sisi noted that “one of the most dangerous challenges the world, particularly developing countries, are facing today is the food crisis and its repercussions. This urges us to strengthen the Arab-China Partnership in the face of these challenges”
