CAIRO – 7 January 2023: Two people were killed and one was injured as an old building partially collapsed on Saturday morning in northern Egypt’s Alexandria, state’s news agency MENA reported.
The civil protection forces managed to exhume the bodies of the deceased from under the rubble, a source said.
Three people were inside a shop in the three-story building when the shop’s ceiling collapsed, killing two of them and injuring one.
The bodies were transferred to Kom El-Sikka morgue in Al-Attarin area, while the injured was transferred to Alexandria Main University Hospital.
The Public Prosecution’s office initiated the investigations and assigned the criminal investigation department to investigate the incident.
