CAIRO – 15 December 2022: “Egypt has developed ambitious anti-corruption policies that were implemented by state institutions,” said Egyptian Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly in a speech during the launch of the third phase of the national anti-corruption strategy under the auspices of President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, on Thursday.
Madbouly added that the launch of the third phase reflects the state's keenness to confront corruption and eradicate its roots.
In October 2021, Egypt’s Administrative Control Authority launched a report on the results of a follow-up on the implementation of the National Anti-Corruption Strategy 2019-2022.
The first year, 2019, targeted the implementation of 39 percent of the total strategy, with a rate of 06.36 percent and a success rate of 46.92 percent, while the second year, 2020, targeted the implementation of 06.32 percent of the total strategy, with a success rate of 86.72 percent.
The plan also targeted following up on 94.2 percent of the implementation process during 2019; the follow-up resulted in the implementation of 17.1 percent of the strategy, bringing what was implemented during the first 2 years years to 59.60 percent of the total strategy, with a success rate of 27.85 percent.
