CAIRO – 12 December 2022: Egypt’s Senate chaired by Counselor Abdel Wahhab Abdel Razek approved in principle on Monday during its plenary session, the draft law submitted by the government to establish Egypt’s Digital Fund.
The joint committee affirmed that the draft law aims to facilitate services and speed up the completion of the required procedures and services through the creation and simplification of an electronic digital system.
It also aims to provide the necessary administrative and organizational advice and technical support required to ensure the success of the proposed fund.
The establishment of Egypt’s Digital Fund is one of the pillars of Digitalizing all of the state’s services.
The draft law also aims to activate and promote digital society services, support and develop the mechanisms of the digital transformation system, develop them and ensure their sustainability, as well as support the various state sectors to implement relevant plans and initiatives, spread awareness of digital services, and provide economic returns and financing means that enable state sectors to provide their services in an optimal manner.
The draft law also aims to eradicate digital illiteracy, urging citizens to switch to digitization in all their transactions, without any additional financial burdens.
