CAIRO –16 July 2017: President Abdel Fatah al-Sisi issued a decree Sunday to establish a unified system to receive and reply to citizens’ complaints of government performance and corruption. The decree was published in the official GazetteAl-Waqae’on the same day.
“All ministries, government authorities and agencies, municipal administration units, public authorities, and other government and public bodies must take all necessary measures to achieve full harmonization with the grievances system,” the decree read. The decree also stated the need for ensuring privacy of the information and data related to the complaints.
The prime minister would issue the necessary decrees to activate the unified complaints system and identify the constituents of its organizational structure after the cabinet’s approval.
