Civilian killed, 19 injured in Warraq clashes - Health Ministry

CAIRO – 16 July 2017: A citizen was killed and 19 others injured when clashes erupted between some people and security forces in Warraq district of Giza governorate.

The clashes happened after security forces started removing infringements and retaking state-owned lands from their illegal occupiers in the district.

Fifteen ambulances rushed to the scene and moved the injured to three hospitals, head of the Ambulance Authority Ahmed el Ansary said in a statement.

Spokesman for the Health Ministry Khalid Megahed said all the injured are in stable condition.

Earlier, the Interior Ministry said 31 policemen, including eight officers, were injured in the clashes.
