Egypt, Oman celebrate 50th anniversary of diplomatic relations

CAIRO – 1 December 2022:  Egyptian Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry praised Egyptian-Omani relations, on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of diplomatic relations between the two countries and Oman's National Day.

In a recorded speech that was broadcast during a celebration held by the Sultanate's Embassy in Cairo, Shoukry said that Egypt and the Sultanate of Oman have fraternal relations at the highest level, which is evident through mutual visits, the most recent of which was President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi’s visit to Oman in June 2022. Shoukry added that a large number of memorandums of understanding were signed during President Sisi’s visit.

Omani Minister of Foreign Affairs Badr bin Hamad al-Busaidi said in a recorded speech that the Sultanate's good relations with Egypt go with a political will that is conscious and aware of the common interests that unite the two countries and the two peoples.
