Syncytial Virus' prevalence rate is high, but not dangerous: Health Ministry

CAIRO - 26 November 2022: The Egyptian Ministry of Health and Population said that the syncytial virus is not dangerous, but the prevalence rates are high, re-assuring citizens as many cases among children were reported. 
 
The ministry advised citizens, in a statement, that "When symptoms appear in adults or children, it is preferable to communicate with doctors and get cured according to the treatment protocol."
 
The Ministry also passed advises to parents to protect their children from infection with respiratory viruses during the winter season, the most important of which are frequent hand washing, continuous cleaning of surfaces, good ventilation of rooms, and avoid kissing children during infection period. It also recommended drinking lots of fluids, eating foods that boost immunity, and fruits that contain vitamin C.
 
“There is no scientific research that indicates a link between the Corona vaccine and the emergence of the respiratory syncytial virus, and stressed the importance of family awareness of dealing with viral diseases, especially for the groups most vulnerable to infection," said the ministry.
 
The ministry also advised to maintain precautionary measures, and warned against the use of antibiotics and the fatal cold injection, where citizens resort to inside pharmacies without a specialist doctor.
