Menna Shalaby released after being fined with LE50,000

CAIRO – 25 November 2022: Egypt’s Public Prosecution ordered, Friday the release of actress Menna Shalaby after interrogating her in the case of possessing narcotics at Cairo International Airport.

The statement added that Menna Shalaby was arrested at Cairo International Airport after returning from abroad with materials suspected of being narcotics.

Menna was released later after being fined with LE50,000.

The Public Prosecution had received a notification, Friday, to arrest actress Menna Shalaby at Cairo International Airport upon her return from abroad, as during the completion of customs procedures, the X-rays showed the presence of organic densities inside her luggage.

After being thoroughly searched, the forces discovered materials suspected of being drugs inside the actress bags, so she arrested, and the suspected materials were sized.

During the investigation, Menna Shalaby denied the accusation of having narcotic substances with the intent to use.

Accordingly, the Public Prosecution ordered the actress release after paying the fine. As the seized materials in her possession were sent to the Forensic Medicine Authority for examination and to clarify their nature and if it contains any narcotic substances.
