First Arab-Chinese Summit important for region: Head of Supreme Council for Media Regulation

CAIRO – 24 November 2022: "The first Arab–China summit that will convene in Riyadh in December is important for the Arab region," said Head of the Supreme Council for Media Regulation Karam Jabr.

In comments to “Min Masr” on CBC, Jabr said that this summit is important as the trade exchange between China and the Arab countries amount to about $300 billion.

The summit will be held with the participation of a large number of presidents, noting that China is keen to have a foothold and an active role in the Arab region.

"The interests of the Arab region in the coming period lie in having a relationship with countries that satisfy the Arab countries' needs in terms of food security and alternative energy,” he said.

Assistant Secretary-General at the Arab League Khalil al-Thawad announced during the opening session of the third session of the China-Arab Forum for Reform and Development in September that the first Arab-Chinese Summit would be held in December, SPA reported.
