CAIRO - 24 November 2022: The 7th Regional Forum of the Union for the Mediterranean (UfM) kicked off on Thursday in Barcelona, Spain, with the participation of Egypt.
Egypt's Assistant Foreign Minister for European Affairs Ehab Nasr will represent Egypt at the forum.
The Forum gathers the Foreign Affairs Ministers of the UfM Member States and is co-chaired by the High Representative of the European Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy and Vice-President of the European Commission, Josep Borrell, and Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates of Jordan, Ayman Safadi.
Secretary General of the Union for the Mediterranean Nasser Kamel will be present at the meeting.
The foreign ministers will discuss the latest regional developments as well as challenges besetting the region. They will also set the union's priorities within the coming period.
The European Union-Southern Neighborhood Ministerial Meeting is also set to take place in Barcelona on Thursday back-to-back with the UfM Regional Forum meeting.
