Demonstrators calling for Climate Justice during COP27
CAIRO - 10 November 2022: A number of Egyptian and African environmental activists gathered Thursday outside the Green Zone at the COP27, in demonstrations calling for climate justice.
The demonstrators emphasized that achieving social justice is one goal for developing countries, as they suffer the most from climate impacts, especially African countries.
The protestors said that Africa is the continent that causes the least negative impacts on climate change, however, it is the continent most affected.
The demonstrators raised slogans: "We all meet for the sake of the earth and one goal, which is climate justice."
The demonstrators also appealed to the developed countries that cause the largest emissions, in order to fulfill their previous obligations to the planet, especially in financing and compensation for the least causing countries, which are affected too.
They reiterated their calls for achieving their right to live on a healthy and safe planet.
