Delivering a speech on the sidelines of the global climate summit, the foreign minister added that COP27 activities have so far probed ways to achieve the sustainable development goals (SDGs), mitigate climate change, support the adaptation agenda, and respond to devastating extreme weather events and climate changes affecting the world.
The agendas under discussion need international action in addition to addressing climate change as soon as possible before 2025, Shoukry said, noting that support should be provided to countries that are unable to adapt.
On that score, he said there are great aspirations for an effective participation by all countries and for everyone to live up to their responsibilities to confront climate change
