CAIRO - 6 November 2022: Emigration Minister Soha Gendi stressed the state's keenness on the participation of ex-pat young scientists in the 27th United Nations Climate Change Conference (COP27) to benefit from their expertise and research in confronting global warming.
Gendi said Egypt is deeply interested in the participation of Egyptian youths abroad, especially those who contribute to the development process in the communities where they live.
As for a dialogue panel to be organized by the ministry during the COP27 activities, she said the ministry has presented a number of proposals, especially on the impact of climate change on immigration.
She added that Egyptian youths living abroad are due to come to Sharm el Sheikh to expound on how they can contribute to confronting climate change in view of their study domain.
The ministry stressed the importance of rallying efforts to spread awareness about climate action and means of protecting the planet from harmful practices.
The opening session of the 2022 United Nations Climate Change Conference (COP27) kicked off on Sunday as Egyptian Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry will be handed over the presidency of Mr. Alok Sharma, President of COP 26/CMP 16/CMA 3.
