CAIRO – 28 October 2022: Number of Facebook, WhatsApp and Instagram users around the world have complained, Friday that the social networks services have all gone down in a huge outage.
Independent outage monitor ‘Down Detector’ has recorded thousands of reports that all these Meta-owned apps going down.
As of 8.40pm [Cairo Time] more than 5,000 people have reported issues accessing Meta’s social media services.
‘Down Detector’ tweeted that both Facebook and Instagram had reported down and it is believed to be affecting people around the world.
Similar outage took place during the past period, as ‘Down detector’ reported Last October that users trying to access Facebook in affected areas were greeted with the message: "Something went wrong. We're working on it and we'll get it fixed as soon as we can."
"We're aware that some people are having trouble accessing our apps and products," Facebook spokesman Andy Stone said on Twitter, echoing similar statements from Instagram and WhatsApp.
