1st festival of medicinal, aromatic plants launches in Fayoum Thursday

CAIRO - 25 October 2022: The first festival of medicinal and aromatic plants will start Thursday, and will last for two days, in a tourist hotel on the shores of Lake Qaroun in Fayoum.

 

The first Medicinal and Aromatic Plants Festival aims to shed light on the challenges facing this sector and enhance the competitive advantage in Egypt by promoting safe organic and semi-organic products.

 

The festival also aims to enhancing the capacities of small farmers, improving their livelihoods, increasing their incomes, raising their awareness of clean agricultural practices, and enhancing economic participation for women during the various production processes, starting from cultivation to assembly, manufacturing and exporting. 

 

It is also considered an opportunity to strengthen ties and enhance cooperation between producers, manufacturers, marketers, exporters and users of medicinal and aromatic plants, adding value to their products, identifying new innovations and technology and providing innovative solutions for agricultural efficiency, productivity, sustainability, product diversity and extracts of medicinal and aromatic plants.
