CAIRO - 15 October 2022: The world celebrates the International Day of Rural Women on October 15 of each year, which was set by the United Nations General Assembly in 2007.
The day was announced in appreciation of the role of rural women, and to support them in promoting agricultural and rural development, as they are considered a great force that can drive global progress.
In Sharqia governorate, in Delta, the fields turned into a beautiful white color adorned with the white gold crop of cotton. Rural women head early to the fields for cotton harvest.
The harvest of the gold crop happens every September and October of each year.
The daily female workers sing with job as they harvest the cotton crop, which is the season that brings them good every year.
