Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi follows up on progress in the establishment of the unified national network for emergency and public safety
CAIRO – 9 October 2022: Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi gave directives for all relevant state authorities to continue efforts to achieve utmost utilization of the national network for emergency and public safety, on Sunday, said Presidential Spokesperson Bassam Rady in a statement.
"This aims to mobilize the state’s capabilities to immediately address, control, and end the various emergency reports by the citizens, as well as all crises and emergency incidents, harnessing the state-of-the-art communication technology," Rady explained.
Rady added that the president stressed the need for this modern network to be integrated into the developmental and services projects across the republic to preserve the public and private properties and safeguard the growing state assets.
Sisi’s directives were given during a meeting held to follow up on progress in the establishment of the unified national network for emergency and public safety. The meeting was attended by Commander of the Strategic Command, Lieutenant-General Ahmed Khaled.
According to Rady, the president was briefed on progress in the establishment of the national network system for emergency and public safety, which will be circulated nationwide and is considered one of the largest systems of its kind in the Middle East and Africa.
This system aims to rapidly contain and address all types of emergencies, crises and disasters with utmost efficiency, during a limited period of time, by achieving full control, cooperation and coordination among the state’s relevant authorities.
This seeks to link all emergency factors and vital installations through a main center and specialized operation room in every governorate, utilizing the latest communication technology, within a unified and fully-secured network.
