CAIRO – 8 October 2022: Egypt’s First Lady Entissar Amer said Mawlid Al-Nabi anniversary is a blessed occasion from which we inspire the highest meanings of mercy, love, humility and sincere will.
Amer congratulated the Egyptian people and the Arab and Islamic world on Mawlid Al-Nabi anniversary.
“Peace be upon our honorable prophet,” Amer said, praying to God to bestow blessings upon Egypt.
President Abdel-Fattah El-Sisi also congratulated Egyptians and the Arab World on Saturday on the occasion of Mawlid Al-Nabi anniversary.
"Let us make this virtuous memory a beacon, an approach, and a model that strengthens our determination and will in building our lives and future,” Sisi said in a social media post.
“On that day, the light of eternal prophecy shone over all of humanity and removed the clouds of ignorance and delusions,” the president said, praising Prophet Muhammad.
The Mawlid is commemorated in Rabi' al-awwal, the third month in the Islamic calendar.
People in some Muslim countries including Egypt celebrate the occasion by buying different kinds of sweets.
Egyptians celebrate the Mawlid on Saturday this year, which is a paid holiday for the public and private sectors.
