CAIRO - 4 October 2022: The Egyptian government aims to implement several development projects and programs related to children's rights, within the framework of implementing the National Human Rights Strategy launched by President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, foremost of which is "providing quality education and knowledge education."
 
According to the development plan, it is intended under the "Providing Quality Education and Knowledge Education" program to continue the efforts made to achieve the goal of the National Human Rights Strategy.
 
This is conducted through directing investments estimated at (520) One million pounds, to establish and develop (3000) nurseries and schools for children, as well as continuing efforts to raise cultural awareness among children, in addition to replacing and renovating (23) cultural homes for children with funds of (72) million pounds.
 
The economic and social development plan for the new fiscal year, submitted by the Minister of Planning, Dr. Hala Al-Saeed, and approved by both houses of the parliament, enumerated the goals of the national strategy for human rights, which it seeks to achieve in the new year, foremost of which is raising awareness of children’s rights and encouraging initiatives and activities related to their rights.
 
The goals also include consolidating the principle of the best interest of the child among all parties concerned with children, reducing the phenomenon of homeless children, strengthening mechanisms for children’s access to full health care, by improving the quality of health services provided to them, increasing the coverage of regular pregnancy care services, and reducing the number of child deaths.
 
This comes in addition to limiting the continuation of practices that fall under the worst forms of child labor, strengthening the enforcement of laws regulating child labor, and establishing more hotlines to help children.
