President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi received a Kuwaiti economic delegation of prominent figures from the business community in Kuwait
CAIRO – 2 October 2022: President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi received a Kuwaiti economic delegation of prominent figures from the business community in Kuwait, headed by Chairman of Kuwait Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Mr. Mohammed Jassem Al-Sager, said Egyptian Presidential Spokesperson Bassam Rady in a statement.
The Spokesman for the Presidency said President El-Sisi asked for his greetings to be conveyed to His Highness the Amir of Kuwait, Sheikh Nawaf Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, and His Highness the Crown Prince, Sheikh Meshal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah.
The President welcomed the meeting, which embodies the spirit of fraternal cooperation between Egypt and the State of Kuwait. President El-Sisi emphasized that Egypt looks forward to further advancing economic and trade cooperation with the Kuwaiti businessmen community and Kuwaiti companies.
He confirmed that it also seeks to boost their investments in Egypt, given the diverse investment opportunities offered in all developmental sector as well as Egypt’s nationwide modern infrastructure, including energy supplies, the transport network, roads, and modern ports. This is, in addition to the advanced legislative framework for the investment process, the robust will and the supportive political decision at the highest level. The President noted that all these are factors representing a solid and supportive base for foreign investment in Egypt.
The Kuwaiti businessmen conveyed to President El-Sisi the greetings of His Highness the Amir, Sheikh Nawaf Al-Sabah, and His Highness Crown Prince, Sheikh Meshal Al-Sabah.
The Kuwaiti businessmen expressed honor to meet with the President, noting that the meeting represents a great opportunity to strengthen ties of fraternity and joint cooperation. They stressed their interest to explore ways to bolster cooperation between the two countries, given the numerous fields and promising investment opportunities offered in Egypt, primarily in the sectors of renewable energy, tourism, construction, real estate development, agriculture, industry and health care.
The Kuwaiti attendees commended the remarkable, significant and unprecedented progress in all development sectors in Egypt, which was achieved in record time. They pointed out President El-Sisi’s relentless and consistent personal follow-up of procedures taken to facilitate the flow of investments to Egypt and all related measures.
The meeting focused on prospects to cultivate closer economic cooperation between Egypt and Kuwait to achieve mutual interests. It also reviewed the Kuwaiti businessmen’s plans to invest in Egypt and to expand the size and scope of their existing projects in various fields. The discussion emphasized the importance of the Joint Cooperation Council and the Egyptian-Kuwaiti Business Forum in further enhancing communication between the private sector representatives in both countries, in order to open-up broader prospects of economic cooperation, living up to the aspirations of the two peoples. The attendees also agreed on the need to increase the Kuwaiti business community's field visits to mega national projects in Egypt to identify the investment opportunity available.
The meeting was attended by Prime Minister, Dr. Moustafa Madbouly, and Minister of Trade and Industry, Eng. Ahmed Samir Saleh.
