CAIRO – 22 August 2022: President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi has issued a decree appointing a new executive head for the Egyptian Space Agency (ESA) as of 19 August, the Official Gazette reported.
The new head, Sherif Sedki, will serve in the post for a year as per the decree and will be of a similar rank to a minister.
The Egyptian Space Agency is an Egyptian public economic authority that follows the president of the republic and was established by Law No. 3 of 2018.
The agency aims to introduce and transfer space technology sciences, localize and develop them, and possess self-capacity to build satellites and launch them from Egyptian territories.
