CAIRO -21 August 2022: Joint Exercises Hercules 2022 kicked off in Egypt on Sunday at the Mohamed Naguib Military Base in Marsa Matrouh governorate in western Egypt, said Egyptian Ministry of Defense in a statement.
Special forces of Egypt, Saudi Arabia, the UAE, Greece and Cyprus are participating in the exercises that would last for several days, the statement added, meanwhile, special forces of Jordan, the US, and Democratic Republic of the Congo will participate as observers.
The first round of the training program includes opening ceremonies, getting acquaintance of the participating forces to unify concepts, an exhibition of weapons and equipment used in training, as well as holding lectures in the fields of cybersecurity and international humanitarian law.
The "Hercules-2" training comes as a continuation of the development and strengthening of military relations between Egypt and other countries to consolidate military cooperation and developing joint work, the statement continued.
