CAIRO - 2 August 2022: A recent study issued by the Egyptian Center for Strategic Studies on President Abdel-Fattah El-Sisi’s recent visit to Serbia discussed that the visit corresponds to the broader pattern of Egyptian foreign policy in recent years, which has been characterized by the  tendency to diversify partnerships that enhance Egyptian interests.

This comes in light of the repercussions of the Russian-Ukrainian war and the preceding repercussions of the Corona pandemic, as well as the climate change, all of this pushes the need to invest in more diversification in partnerships, expand the margin of movement, and reduce the cost of any of them stumbling.

The study stated that the Egyptian foreign policy is witnessing an increasing activity, where President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi participated in the Jeddah Summit for Security and Development, which was held in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia on Saturday, July 16, 2022, and then headed to the German capital, Berlin, to chair the “Petersburg Climate Dialogue” with Germany’s participation in preparation for the COP27 summit.

The visit to Germany was conducted on July 17-18, at the invitation of Chancellor Olaf Schultz. At the end of the visit, President Sisi headed to Serbia at the invitation of Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic, who was re-elected to take over Serbia for the second time, on a visit that continued for three days, from 19th to 21st July.
