CAIRO – 2 August 2022: The Egyptian Armed Forces announced the launching of Pyramids Air Show 2022 on Wednesday, and that will be performed by Egypt's Silver Stars team and South Korea's Black Eagles team.
The press statement pointed out that the fighter jets participating in the show will be seen in the sky of Greater Cairo, and that also paratroopers will take part.
In January, South Korean President Moon Jae-in paid a state visit to Egypt holding talks with Egyptian counterpart Abdel Fatah al-Sisi on bilateral relations and global issues of mutual concern.
They also signed four documents that are a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to conduct a joint feasibility study on the trade and economic partnership between the two countries; another on financial cooperation with the Korean Economic Development Cooperation Fund (EDCF) for the years 2022 to 2026, with a value of $1 billion; a document between the governments of the two states regarding a $251-million loan from the EDCF to upgrade the Egypt-Luxor-High Dam railway; and another on non-refundable grant of $7.9 million.
President Moon Jae-in’s visit to Egypt was the first by a South Korean president in 16 years and came in light of the partnership that was signed between Cairo and Seoul in 2016 during President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi’s visit to Seoul.
