CAIRO – 15 July 2022: Egypt’s President Abdel Fattah El Sisi will start a visit to Germany on Sunday, during which he will hold talks with German leaders and participate in the Petersberg Climate Dialogue (PCD), said German Cabinet Deputy Spokesman Wolfgang Buchner.
In a press conference, Buchner said German Chancellor Olaf Scholz will receive President Sisi at the Federal Chancellery headquarters, noting that the two leaders will hold a joint press conference following the talks.
He added that Sisi will give a speech at the PCD as Egypt will host the 27th UN Climate Change Conference of the Parties (COP27) in Sharm El Sheikh in November.
Earlier, the German Embassy in Egypt announced that President Sisi will pay a visit Berlin on Sunday.
"We are very happy with President Sisi’s visit to Berlin because this visit reiterates the deep-rooted relations between Germany and Egypt as well as the joint keenness to enhance cooperation in the field of climate protection and stability in the Middle East," German Ambassador to Egypt Frank Hartmann said.
He added that President Sisi’s visit to Germany coincides with celebrating the 70th anniversary of establishing diplomatic relations between Egypt and Germany
