Makram contacted the families of the victims, who are from Daqahliya governorate, and offered her condolences to them, the ministry said in a statement on Friday.

The minister told the family that the state bodies are following up on the procedures to return the bodies back home for burial.

The victims were killed when their car suddenly swerved and collided with a heavy truck in Ras Al Khaimah.
