Sisi hails bin Zayed’s ‘insightful vision’, affirms keenness to enhance Egyptian-Emirati ties

CAIRO – 13 July 2022: Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi has hailed the “insightful vision” of UAE’s President Mohamed bin Zayed, reiterating keenness to strengthen the relations between the two countries.

Sisi’s remarks came in a tweet after bin Zayed delivered a speech broadcast on Wednesday on local TV and radio channels to address the nation, during which he underlined the UAE’s policy in the future after late President Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed passed away.

During the speech, bin Zayed said the UAE will continue working on enhancing cooperation and allow positive, respectful dialogue between countries to achieve prosperity and stability for all sides.

“I followed with great interest the speech of my brother, Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed, President of the UAE, to the brotherly Emirati people, in which he laid out a clear roadmap for prosperity, development and brotherhood, and clearly defined the UAE's internal and foreign policy,” Sisi said on Facebook.

Sisi praised the “insightful” vision of Sheikh Mohamed, saying that this vision was manifested in many situations over the past years.

“I believe that the UAE and the world will benefit from it (bin Zayed’s vision during the coming period,” the Egyptian president added.

Sisi also reiterated Egypt’s keenness to enhance and expand the brotherhood relations and cooperation under the wise leadership of Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed.

During his speech today, bin Zayed underlined the UAE’s policy, saying that the Emirati people and striving to empower them continues to be the top priority of the nation, Emirates News Agency (WAM) reported.

"Ensuring our people have everything they need to live fulfilled, comfortable, and happy lives, remains the basis of all our future plans," he said.

Sheikh bin Zayed said the Emirati policy will continue to champion regional and international peace and stability, backing others and “advocating for wisdom and cooperation for the good of mankind”.

He also affirmed that the the sovereignty and security of the UAE will continue to be a foundational principle that “we will abide with and will not tolerate anything that could affect it.”

He affirmed that the UAE extends the friendship hand to all states that share the same values of peaceful coexistence and mutual respect in order to achieve progress and prosperity.

Bin Zayed said the UAE is fortunate to have citizens who have proven their determination to overcome the toughest challenges in addition to residents who consider the UAE their second home and contribute to building and developing the country.
