Egypt's Local development ministry wins prize of best applied project for economic empowerment of women

In a statement on Monday, the ministry said that the participants of the training include: 47 trainees; 21 from the ministry and the governorates of Qena, Sohag, Beni Suef, Minya and Fayyoum in addition to 26 trainees from the ministries of international cooperation, youth and sports and trade and industry and Small and Medium Enterprises Development Authority (SMEDA).

Minister of Local Development Mahmoud Shaarawy gave directives to study and generalize the applied project which is under the rubric "producing Eco-friendly innovative products from the wastes of palm trees (palm wicker)" in al Alam village in Fayyoum governorate.

The joint program which was passed by the trainees copes with the strategy of sustainable development and Egypt vision 2030 and aims at increasing the economic participation 6,300 women in the Egyptian private sector in some governorates, he added.
