CAIRO – 27 June 2022: Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi and Omani Sultan Haitham bin Tariq Al Said met in Al Alam Palace in the Omani capital, Muscat, to discuss bilateral ties and regional and international issues of mutual concern, said Egyptian Presidential Spokesperson Bassam Rady in a statement.
President Sisi embarked on Monday on official visits to the Sultanate of Oman and Bahrain, said Rady in a statement earlier, amid intense movements by Arab leaders in the region ahead of the visit of the US President Joe Biden’s to Israel and Saudi Arabia in mid-July.
The Egyptian Spokesman for the Presidency said the President and His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tariq held an expanded session of talks that included the delegations of the two countries.
Oman’s Sultan expressed his appreciation for Egypt’s efforts in support of Omani affairs at all levels, lauding the Egyptian community’s contributions to the construction and development process in Oman in various fields, Rady said.
The Sultan emphasized Oman's keenness on strengthening the steadfast bilateral cooperation frameworks with Egypt across various fields during the coming period, through boosting Omani investments in Egypt and capitalizing on the investment opportunities available there.
President El-Sisi thanked Sultan Haitham for the warm reception and hospitality, stressing that Egypt values the profound and strong strategic relations between the two brotherly countries. The President expressed keenness on strengthening and diversifying frameworks of joint cooperation and on exploring mechanisms to promote them toward broader horizons in the various political, security, economic and commercial fields, Rady continued.
The President appreciated the level of the ongoing coordination and common visions shared by the two countries on issues of mutual interest. This is, in addition to the Omani-Egyptian consensus on all regional and international issues.
