CAIRO – 22 June 2022: Egypt, represented in the Administrative Control Authority (ACA) will chair the African Union Advisory Board Against Corruption for years between 2022 and 2025.
Mali will become the union's first vice president while Cameroon will be the second vice president.
The AUABC approved a request by South Africa to play host to the sixth meeting of the union.
Egypt participated in the fifth annual meeting of the union's General Assembly, which started proceedings on Monday and will wrap up on Thursday in Burundi.
The meeting discussed the strategic plans of the union and the role of African anti-corruption agencies in combating illicit financial flows.
The African Union Advisory Board on Corruption is an autonomous organ established within the African Union (AU), in terms of Article 22 of the African Union Convention on Preventing and Combating Corruption.
