CAIRO – 20 June 2022: Egypt’s General Prosecution launched on Monday an investigation into the killing of a slain academic student outside El Mansoura University.
The Public Prosecution received a notification from the police of the death of the student, Naira, after the accused young man had slaughtered her with a knife.
Investigators headed to the crime scene and seized the recordings of the surveillance cameras in the surrounding areas to watch the crime when it occured.
Immediately after perpetrating the crime, the accused person was arrested with the knife.
Checking the body of the victim, the investigators found injuries to the neck, chest and other areas of her body. Two eye-witnesses of the university security guards confirmed that the accused had assaulted the victim with a knife.
The killer has been subjected to investigations, the prosecution said, calling upon the people on social media not to circulate information or video footage about the incident online. It also called upon anyone who has a piece of information that could be useful in the investigations to submit it to the prosecution.
