Egypt’s health Min. says cooperation with Foreign Min. on going to share 30M anti-COVID-19 doses with African nations

CAIRO – 6 June 2022: Spokesman for the Ministry of Health Hossam Abdel Ghaffar said, Monday that coordination is being made with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to provide 30 million doses of the COVID-19 vaccine to ‘brotherly nations’ in Africa.

In a televised statement, Monday that Egypt and the rest of the African nations share many common health concerns.

During his participation at Africa Health ExCon, Sunday, Egypt’s President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi announced sharing 30 million doses of vaccination against the Coronavirus to the brotherly African countries, in coordination with the African Union.

In his speech President Sisi said that Africa has 60% or 65% of its population young, saying: "It could be even more than that, so the future is in Africa."

He added that Egypt is ready to cooperate with all African countries in all different fields, affirming that Africa is a continent that is full of different kind of resources.

Africa Health ExCon was held by the Egyptian Authority for Unified Procurement (UPA), and attended by participants from around 100 countries.

“I want to tell my brothers in Africa that limited resources are never an obstacle in the way of achieving goals,” President Sisi stressed, given that two panel discussions on the localization of drug manufacturing on the continent took place.

President Sisi vowed to continue sharing know-how and experience with fellow African states in all sectors, and addressed foreign investors saying that the “capabilities of Africa are enormous.”
