CAIRO – 4 June 2022: Egypt’s Minister of Defense Mohamed Zaki has inspected one of the main weapons workshops with the presence of the Armed Forces Chief of Staff Osama Askar and a number of army commanders.
Zaki also inaugurated a center for developing small arms at the main workshops, Armed Forces spokesman said in a statement on Saturday.
The new center has been equipped with the latest relevant technologies in a way that helps specialists achieve the utmost benefits and keep pace with the global development in the field of small arms, the spokesman said.
The tour came as part of the General Command of Armed Forces' keenness to follow up on the continued development and modernization of equipment for various branches of the Armed Forces, the statement said.
Zaki watched a presentation that included a detailed explanation of the method of work and continuous development in light of the technological revolution in the field of weapons.
He later toured different departments that operate according to the latest technical insurance methods in the field of maintenance.
The minister praised the distinguished level and high combativeness of the department's personnel and their insistence on fulfilling the tasks assigned to them.
