CAIRO – 26 May 2022: Egyptian Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry held a bilateral meeting with his Cypriot counterpart Ioannis Kasoulides on Thursday, said Egyptian Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Ahmed Hafez.
“The bilateral consultations' begins between FM Shoukry and Cypriot FM Kasoulides to discuss bilateral relations; advancing cooperation in several fields, especially trade, energy, and investments; as well as to discuss regional and international issues of interest,” Hafez said on his Twitter account.

On January 25, 2022, Shoukry received a phone call from Kasoulides, in light of the close relations that bind the two friendly countries.
Minister Shoukry congratulated his Cypriot counterpart on assuming his new post, and invited him to visit Cairo. Minister Shoukry also expressed that he is looking forward to be jointly working with Kasoulides to advance the close relations between the two countries, and promote cooperation in various fields.
The two ministers agreed on the importance of working to enhance regional stability, especially in the Mediterranean region. They also exchanged views on the overall regional issues, where Minister Shoukry reviewed the Egyptian efforts in this regard, and both ministers agreed to continue the pace of coordination and consultation on issues and files of mutual concern.
