CAIRO – 19 May 2022: Egypt’s Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry meet on Wednesday with a number of his assistants and senior officials at the ministry's new headquarters in the New Administrative Capital.
The meeting came as part of preparations for gradual shift to the new premises.
Shoukry toured the ministry’s new headquarters in the administrative capital, and listened to a presentation of the new office updates and developments, especially with regard to establishing a comprehensive IT infrastructure in line with the state's digital transformation vision.
He directed to continue honing skills of the ministry's cadres through intensive training programs as the state seeks to build digital capabilities of its workers.
The talks also tackled means of developing diplomatic and administrative mechanisms at the ministry.
At the end of the meeting, the minister congratulated ambassadors that will join Egypt's missions abroad, stressing confidence that they will efficiently accomplish their missions.
He called for continued efforts to serve Egyptian interests abroad and promote for the unprecedented development which Egypt is witnessing in all walks of life.
Shoukry attended on Wednesday a meeting with the Prime Minster Mostafa Madbouly and several other officials and Ministers at the administrative capital to follow up on tourism inflows into Egypt and latest developments regarding COPE27 preparations.
Shoukry said that there are constant contacts with the previous UK presidency of the COP26 conference, and the new hosting agreement is expected to be signed soon in Bonn, as Egypt has finished the revision of all the agreement terms.
Several agricultural, energy, and water initiatives, have been devised, and expected to be launched on the sidelines of COP27, Shoukry said, adding that by launching the national initiatives and strategies, Egypt could rally more funds to implement these Egyptian initiatives and projects.
