KUWAIT CITY - 13 July 2017: Kuwaiti Emir Sheikh Sabah Al Ahmad Al Jaber Al Sabah sent a cable of condolences on Thursday to Indian President Pranab Mukherjee over the victims of the floods that hit northeastern India.

He hoped that the Indian authorities could overcome the consequences of this natural disaster, wishing a speedy recovery for the wounded.

Floods in northeast India have killed at least 40 people and displaced nearly 1.5 million. The Brahmaputra river, which flows from China down to India and then through Bangladesh, has burst its banks after torrential monsoon rains.
