CAIRO - 5 May 2022: Thirty-six Egyptian universities were listed on the 2022 Times Higher Education Impact Rankings which include 1,406 universities from 106 countries or regions for their commitment to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), the indicator of scientific research for April revealed.

The Times Higher Education Impact Rankings are the only global performance tables that assess universities against the SDGs. The rankings use carefully calibrated indicators to provide comprehensive and balanced comparison across four broad areas; research, stewardship, outreach and teaching.
The Alexandria University achieved 15 out of the 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) adopted by the UN, according to the Times Higher Education (THE) Impact Rankings for 2022.
The university ranked the fourth at the national level, out of 36 Egyptian universities included in the rankings, covering 1,406 universities in more than 85 worldwide, President of Alexandria University Abdelaziz Konsowa said in a statement on Saturday.
Prominent among the SDGs met by the university are Goal 3 that seeks to ensure health and well-being, Goal 5 that seeks to achieve gender equality, Goal 9 that seeks to build resilient infrastructure, promote sustainable industrialization and foster innovation, Goal 11 that seeks to build sustainable cities and communities, and Goal 12 that seeks to ensure sustainable consumption and production patterns.
The Times Higher Education Impact Rankings measure global universities' success in delivering the United Nations' Sustainable Development Goals.
