President Sisi extends greeting to Egyptian expats on Eid Al-Fitr

CAIRO – 29 April 2022: Egypt’s President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi has extended greetings to Egyptians abroad on the occasion of Eid Al-Fitr, which starts this year early in May, the country’s Middle East News Agency (MENA) reported.

“Brothers and sisters, the Muslim sons of Egypt abroad, I am pleased to convey to you my most heartfelt congratulations and best wishes on the occasion of the Blessed Eid Al-Fitr,” Sisi said in a cable of greeting circulated by the Egyptian embassies and consulates.

The president prayed to God Almighty to make this Eid a blessed and happy occasion.

The Ministry of Health has announced raising the degree of preparedness in all public and central hospitals during Eid Al-Fitr holidays.

The ministry affirmed intensifying the presence of the required medical teams in the emergency departments of hospitals.

The ministry also confirmed that all its hospitals in Cairo and the governorates operate regularly throughout the Eid Al-Fitr period and provide all services around the clock to citizens.

Egypt and other Muslim and Arab countries will celebrate the three-day Eid Al-Fitr starting Monday 2 May, according to astronomical calculations.

Earlier this month, the Egyptian cabinet has announced that the period extending from 30 April to 5 May will be a paid holiday for public sector employees on the occasion of the Labor Day and Eid Al-Fitr.

The first day of Eid al-Fitr (The Feast of Breaking the Fast) will witness a hot weather during daytime, with a tendency to be cold at night.

Member of Media Center of the General Authority of Meteorology, Manar Ghanem, revealed the details of the weather during the first days of Eid al-Fitr, which is expected to begin on Monday.

The weather is expected to be very hot on southern Upper Egypt, and cold at night.

She pointed out that the average temperature in Greater Cairo is expected to be between 30 and 32 degrees during the day, and the atmosphere is around normal at this time of the year.

Egypt’s Supply Ministry said on Wednesday all affiliated cooperatives and Consumer Complexes will open during Eid al Fitr holiday to secure citizens' basic needs.
