CAIRO - 20 April 2022: French Ambassador in Cairo Marc Baréty said three polling stations will open its doors for members of the French community in Egypt to vote in the second round of France's presidential elections, slated for Sunday.
Baréty told MENA Wednesday that there are two balloting centers in Cairo and the third is located in Alexandria.
All preparations were made to receive the voters, according to him. As many as 5,600 French people are staying in Egypt, added the diplomat.
Baréty described political relations between President Abdel Fattah El Sisi and French President Emmanuel Macron as "distinguished."
That came in remarks on the sidelines of signing a contract at the French Embassy in Cairo's HQ Wednesday to establish a new international French school "Victor Hugo" in Al Mustakbal City.
Baréty commended cooperation at the ministerial level in the light of exchange of visits on all fronts.
He told MENA that the contract is part of excellent ties binding Egypt and France in the different political, economic and cultural fields, in addition to cooperation in education.
Egypt had a strong French educational network several years ago, he said, adding France seeks to expand and boost it at the desire of the Egyptian authorities to provide good and equality education.
Education is a top priority to France and Egypt as well, according to him. The new school will be inaugurated in September, 2023.
