CAIRO – 16 April 2022: Egyptian Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouli said that the State is keen on speeding up the completion of the Grand Egyptian Museum (GEM) project.
The premier made an inspection tour of the project site on Saturday, and made statements during the tour, saying that the edifice is envisioned to become an attractive destination on the world tourism map for those interested in exploring the secrets of ancient Egyptian civilization.
In the tour, Madbouli was joined by Minister of Tourism and Antiquities Khaled Al-Anani, Minister of Local Development Mahmoud Shaarawy, Minister of Housing, Utilities, and Urban Community Assem El Gazzar, Secretary-General of the Supreme Council of Antiquities Mostafa Waziri, and Assistant Minister of Tourism and Antiquities for Archaeological Affairs at the Grand Egyptian Museum Al-Tayeb Abbas.
Madbouli watched a documentary about the progress made in the project, including internal as well as external works to improve the area around the museum.
He also followed up completion rates of construction and museum display activities.
Meanwhile, Anani posted the prime minister on the GEM promotional plan as well as the advertising campaigns to be launched on various social media platforms.
He revealed that the museum's administration is working on a project for accrediting GEM as a green museum and obtaining the Green Pyramid certificate, making it the first museum in Egypt to be certified as a green building.
