CAIRO – 16 April 2022: The Egyptian Meteorological Authority (EMA) revealed that the latest satellite images indicate that the country is witnessing a significant rise in temperatures throughout Saturday, due to very hot air mass accompanied by southerly winds.
The authority warned the temperature degrees are expected to rise Sunday, which sees the peak of the hot weather, by 9 degrees, where Cairo records highs of 39 degrees.
The authority said that the temperatures record higher than their normal rates during that time of the year.
There will be active and dry southern winds over large areas of the Western Desert on Saturday and will extend to Cairo.
On Saturday, there is a slight rise in temperatures, with hot weather prevailing during the day in Greater Cairo, Lower Egypt, South Sinai and northern Upper Egypt, tending to be hot on the northwestern coasts, moderate on the eastern coasts, very hot on southern Upper Egypt, while at night, the weather is cold.
As for the temperatures on Saturday:
Cairo records highs of 30 degrees and lows of 17 degrees
Alexandria records highs of 28 degrees and lows of 14 degrees
Matrouh records highs of 24 degrees and lows of 15 degrees
Sohag records highs of 36 degrees and lows of 14 degrees
Qena records highs of 36 degrees and lows of 18 degrees
Aswan records highs of 38 degrees and lows of 19 degrees
Saint Catherine records highs of 29 degrees and lows of 11 degrees
