CAIRO – 7 April 2022: A second shipment of veterinarian vaccines were handed over to South Sudan by Egypt on Wednesday, according to a statement by the Foreign Ministry.

A group of Egyptian vets delivered the shipment to the South Sudanese Minister of Livestock and Fisheries Anyoti Adigo. During the ceremony, Egyptian Ambassador to Juba Motaz Abdel Kader emphasized the strength of the Egyptian-South Sudanese ties, referring to Egypt’s keenness to support its southern neighbor in all fields.

For his part, Adigo thanked Egypt for the aid, saying it comes as a result of the Egyptian-South Sudanese Supreme Committee, as the members decided on support in livestock.

In December, Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of the Republic of South Sudan, Mayek Aye Deng, received Abdel Kader to discuss ways to boost bilateral cooperation, as well as the continuation of coordination and political consultation on various regional and continental issues.

Also in December, a military plane carrying large quantities of medical and humanitarian aid took off from Eastern Cairo Air Base to South Sudan, as well as another one later in January.
