CAIRO – 22 March 2022: Minister of Immigration Nabila Makram thanked the Coptic church in Romania on Tuesday for hosting 70 Egyptian students who fled Ukraine.
“This is how we have known the Egyptian church, and this is a continuation of the national role of the Egyptian church in standing by our children abroad. This only confirms the cohesion of the nation, without which it would not have been able to address all the challenges it faces,” Makram said in a statement.
She also recalled the position of the Coptic church in Kenya, which hosted stranded Egyptians for over a week after the outbreak of Covid-19 until they were brought back home.
